Every year, Spotted Salamanders come out of hibernation and instinctively return to spawn in the same vernal pools they were born in. Since our house is down the street from these pools, we've been going to see them this time every year since moving in. During this season, other kinds of salamanders (that move too quickly to have their pictures taken) and lots of different frogs also come out of hibernation.

Also, our yard's reputation for having the best skunk bait in the neighborhood is quickly spreading among raccoons. Little do they know that Nicole and I are really fameous doctors on TV. (That picture really gets jpeg-ed by Picasa, look at this too.)

Colorful Easter cupcakes could knowingly contain rat poison and I still couldn't say no to them.

Almost three months of not eating meat now, I've lost so much weight my ring is nearly falling off. (Hey look Tiff, it's a hand)

Monday Night Naptime is 100% going to happen right now, but before that, I scanned a few more pictures from yesterday. I'm so obsessed with this camera/lens I got from the pawn shop, I figured I would put some more shots on here. 1 2 3 4.

P.s. I just noticed those scans are way less saturated than the prints, but I choose naptime over editing/reuploaing. Please pretend the scans are nice warm, saturated colors.

Hiking in the woods and shooting pictures of things. We also found a cave, but I ran out of film right before we got there. Nicole got her boots stuck in the Swamp of Sorrows, but unlike Artex, I managed to save them.

P.s. This is my first 100% not digital post! (so please excuse the dust and finger prints on the scans).

3-20-2010

We drove to Columbus to pick up a camera from Craig's list. While there, we hung out with bears, bought another camera at a pawn shop from Gary (above), and had a drink with my long-lost friend Dave.

Chrome (a bicycle apparel company) has a deal where they will send you a free pair of their shoes if you send them a beat up old pair of yours. While this deal is too good to pass up, and clearly the shoes in question are the ones to send, I'm terribly attached to any remnants of my illicit past. These shoes have seen more criminal activity than most rappers, and I felt the need to document them before sending them off. They'd better send me some pretty damn good shoes in return, I'm going to miss these guys.

Also, the parking lot at work isn't looking so hot these days. Sienna is in top condition though.

The score is now two opossums and a groundhog relocated to the park down the street. The skunk is still at large.

We also saw these planes doin' it.

Today is annual Buzzard Day. It celebrates the turkey vulture's migratory return to this area after the winter season. I feel that this is indeed appropriate since I noticed how many of these things are living in my back yard and took this picture today, before finding out that this holiday even existed.

A few months ago, I was minding my own business working in my office. I looked up to see the creepiest hairy/leggy/tentacle-having bug scurrying up the wall behind my monitors. I frantically squashed it with a pad of post-it notes, and it totally exploded like Rorschach in the Watchmen (movie). Grossed out ever since, I haven’t worked up the nerve to touch it much less clean it off. I see it every day whenever I look above my monitors.

One of the computers at work got a virus today. I'm a PC.

I scanned my 120 negatives. Here's a picture of the big man.

Nicole and I drove around and shot point and shoot cameras with expired film today. I used my thrift store find from yesterday and Nicole used the bright pink camera she's had since she was five.

Also, I went to a carwash to clean up after the getting-stuck-in-mud adventure. Found this little something at junkiest bazaar ever. Then drove around until it was dark.

...wading through piles of junk looking for old cameras and glassware. There's a person in there too, can you find her?

Nicole and I spend a lot of time together in the car.

We went to Toledo for my friend Doug's gallery opening. Tony coordinates so well wherever he goes, even the room matches his outfit.

On the way we got stuck, and had to sacrifice the hoodie in my trunk to get out.

After the gallery, we went to see my friend's band play. Then we drove back home.
